Colleen McCullough

Colleen McCullough AO was born in Australia. A neurophysicist, she established the department of neurophysiology at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, then worked as a researcher and teacher at Yale Medical School for ten years. She is the author of the record-breaking international bestseller THE THORN BIRDS as well as eleven other novels. Her latest book, THE INDEPENDENCE OF MISS MARY BENNET, was published by HarperCollins in September 2008 - Colleen picks up the story of the Bennet family twenty years after PRIDE & PREJUDICE ended, but this time from middle sister Mary's perspective. Colleen is currently working on TOO MANY MURDERS, a sequel to the very popular ON, OFF, for publication in 2010 by HarperCollins in the UK Australia and by McArthur & Company in Canada.

Colleen lives in Sydney and Norfolk Island.
