Simon Barnes

Simon Barnes is the award winning Chief Sportswriter for The Times, and a frequently controversial columnist for the RSPB’s Birds magazine. He is the author of a dozen books, including three on wildlife and three novels. His recent, bestselling, HOW TO BE A BAD BIRDWATCHER (UK Short Books; USA Pantheon) has been serialised in The Times and read on Radio 4.  The sequel A BAD BIRDWATCHERS COMPANION was published by Short Books in 2006, and Autumn 2006 saw Short Books’ publication of THE MEANING OF SPORT.

Simon's sister, Rachel Barnes, joined him to write HORSES IN ART for Quercus who published in November 2008. Short Books published A HORSEY LIFE: A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY WITH A RATHER REMARKABLE MARE in September 2008.
