Professor Alvin Jackson

Alvin Jackson is currently Richard Lodge Professor of British History at the University of Edinburgh.  He has been Professor of Modern Irish History at Queen’s University, Belfast, Lecturer in Modern History at University College Dublin, John Burns Visiting Professor at Boston College, and a British Academy Research Reader (2000-2002). 
 
Alvin is the author of the highly acclaimed IRELAND 1798-1998 and HOME RULE: AN IRISH HISTORY 1800-2000 (Weidenfeld & Nicolson).
