Tom Gash
Tom Gash is a Director at the Institute for Government and a writer. He was previously a crime adviser in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Tom has worked with governments across the world as an independent consultant and contributes regularly to debates on current affairs, including in The Independent, The Guardian and on national television and radio (BBC News, BBC Radio, Sky News).
Tom’s writing looks at big topics from odd angles. His first book, UNUSUAL SUSPECTS, is about crime and will be published by Penguin in 2012. He blogs sporadically at

Tom was born in Norwich and studied Modern History at Oxford University. He likes cats, coffee, playing musical instruments and sports that don’t involve water.
