Dr Kate Cooper

Kate Cooper is a professional historian who teaches History of Early Christianity at the University of Manchester.  It is with great pleasure that she now writes the kind of books on women that had yet to be written when she was a student.  Her academic titles have explored the role of virgins in early Christianity (THE VIRGIN AND THE BRIDE) and of married women during the decline and fall of the Roman Empire (THE FALL OF THE ROMAN HOUSEHOLD).  Born in Washington, DC and educated at Princeton, her doctoral work on early Christian women gained her the Rome Prize of the American Academy in Rome.   EARLY CHRISTIAN WOMEN is her first book for the general reader and will be published by Atlantic in 2013.
