Catherine Bailey read history at Oxford University.  She is an award-winning television producer and director, making a range of critically acclaimed documentary films inspired by her interest in twentieth-century history.

 

Her first book, BLACK DIAMONDS, was published by Penguin in 2008.  Her second book, THE SECRET ROOMS, uncovers a plotting Duchess, a mysterious death and a castle full of lies, and was published at the end of 2012.

 

Catherine is currently working on CHATSWORTH: A HISTORY for delivery to Penguin. She lives in west London.
