Jann Parry
Jann Parry’s biography of the choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan (1929-1992) has been ten years in the making and will be published by Faber in 2009. It is the first comprehensive account of his life and his ballets, created for the Royal Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Deutsche Oper Ballet, Berlin, and American Ballet Theatre.
A long-established dance writer, Jann was dance critic for The Observer from 1983 to 2004. She has written for publications including The Spectator, The Listener, About the House (Royal Opera House magazine), Dance Now, Dance Magazine (USA) and Dancing Times.
Jann was a writer/producer for the BBC World Service from 1970 to 1989, covering current affairs and the arts.
