Kwasi Kwarteng MP

The son of Ghanaian parents, Kwasi Kwarteng MP was born in London in 1975. He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he won one of the University Classical Scholarships and graduated with a double first in Classics and History, and at Harvard University, where he spent a year as a Kennedy Scholar. He returned to Cambridge to complete a PhD in History, before working in the City for 6 years as an investment analyst.  Kwasi was elected as Member of Parliament for Spelthorne in May 2010.

 

GHOSTS OF EMPIRE, a book which seeks to investigate the legacy of the last days of the British Empire in various parts of the world, was published by Bloomsbury in August 2011 to very favourable reviews. He also contributes articles to the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, New Statesman and Sunday Times.
