Garrett Carr
Garrett’s novels THE BADNESS OF BALLYDOG and LOST DOGS are published by Simon & Schuster. The final part of the trilogy DEEP DEEP DOWN was published in November 2011. Ireland is home to a long tradition of myth and legend and with these stories Garrett takes this trend to the 21st Century.
Garrett comes from a background in illustration. He has worked for governmental agencies in his native Ireland and for development agencies in Latin America. He specialised in the creation of visual tools for education in health and law, using images to reach out to the young, or across language barriers. He lives in Belfast.
"This is a very good book about a very bad place. It's got a wonderfully quirky Irishness about it - the description of the town and fish finger factory made me both smile and squirm - and the confidence of the writing carries even an adult reader through. This book hits a spot and I'm sure all readers will find echoes of Ballydog in their own town. The Horror! I shall look forward to reading the next ones, and these books will make great presents. Hurrah for Mr. Carr!”
